About me

I would like to introduce myself to you ...

How it all started ...

Dogs and horses have accompanied me through my life from an early age. From 2000-2015 our family dog, our long-haired dachshund "Bobby", was my loyal companion and everything. Even then I was always fascinated by Dalmatians because of their uniqueness and their nature and knew that I wanted to form a pack with them and my beloved long-haired dachshunds.

My dream has always been to work with animals and become a veterinarian. However, since I cannot euthanize animals, I did not choose this profession, but followed my second career dream and started my banking training at Bremer Landesbank Bremen in 2008. After successfully completing my courses in banking, banking and insolvency law, I decided, after a long period of deliberation, to turn my back on the bank, which has meanwhile been merged into Nord / LB, on January 31, 2020 and to return to my original professional dream of working with animals . This wish was reinforced by the arrival of my Dalmatian puppy Merlin on 08/25/2018.

The course of independence
In December 2018 I started my training at ATM GmbH in Bad Bramstedt to become an animal health practitioner and animal physiotherapist for dogs and horses, and I will hopefully pass the exam successfully in 2020/2021. This is followed by the one-year training to become an animal chiropractor, also for dogs and horses. During my apprenticeship I started to build up my own health center for alternative veterinary medicine for dogs and horses bit by bit. The more time I spent with Merlin, the more I fell in love with him and the breed and the desire arose to join him in breeding.

The creation of my kennel
"Merlins" breeder Daniela Behr supported my breeding project and gave me some information and invited me to the regional group meeting of the Dalmatian Zuchtgemeinschaft Deutschland (DZGD). Here I have the DZGD, whose breeders from the Regio Nord and the breeding activities get to know. At the meeting I also got to know the long-standing and experienced breeders Michael and Karola Lehmann, who have meanwhile developed into my great role models. I was allowed to closely accompany Michael for a year in order to take over his regional group leadership of the DZGD. He and his wife Karola stood by my side at all times and supported and advised me in all breeding questions and projects and have become excellent advisors, caregivers and friends for me.

I thank Michael and Karola for entrusting me with "Christi ORMOND Xtended Version" from their Christi ORMOND kennel as my first breeding bitch.

In addition, I would like to thank Michael for the instructive hours and the knowledge he passed on to me and for the unique way of seeing and understanding the dog world from a different point of view. I look forward to continuing to work with the Lehmann family and the next training seminars. My previous breeding activities have been largely shaped by the Lehmann family. In the future I would also like to breed long-haired dachshunds under my kennel name Siruna's and have thus combined my childhood dream of Dalmatians and Dachshunds under one roof.

Voluntary work
In January 2020 I took over the honorary position of the regional group leader north in the Dalmatiner Zucht Gemeinschaft Deutschland eV (DZGD) from Michael Lehmann and since February 2020 I have officially been the honorary regional group leader of the regional group north. I look after 68 members and 26 kennels. It is also planned that I will be trained as a volunteer breed warden for the Dalmatian breed in the DZGD. In addition to the induction and preparation for the responsible office by Michael Lehmann, I have attended various training courses, including at the VDH, in order to prepare myself as well as possible for my new responsibility. In the future I will continue to train myself regularly in order to be always up to date and to be able to guarantee the best possible care for the breeders, the interested parties and most importantly for the dogs. You can find a list of my previous training courses here.
